Hall of Fame: Bowey

Steve Bowey will always be remembered for lighting up the pitch, if it wasn't with his skills with a ball it would be his hair.

Steve joined Gateshead from Bristol Rover's the season before Gateshead's Last season in the National Conference 95/96season.

Bowser played in midfield with Paul Proudlock and kenny Lowe in his Time at Gateshead and also Dion Raitt.

Steve was part of Gateshead FA Cup Team that made it to the second in 2000, that match was one of his last for the club as Scottish Football came calling. Queen of the South was the club that was to take him to a higher level where he won a league title and cup in his first season
.

Steve Bowey has stated in Local Press that he would love to end his cerear back at Gateshead, The Heed Army can not wait to see this happen.

Bowey at the moment is back in the national Conference playing For York City, where he has scored a few goals so far the season.

Steve is one of a few names to have gone on to the higher levels in the football game from Gateshead in the past few years.

Names that include:

Rob Jones now with Scottish prem side Hibernian

John Kennedy has gone on to play for two national Conference side since playing for Gateshead, he played for Accrington Stanley and is now at Halifax Town.

Sam Russel has gone to to become Darlington number 1 goal keeper after his stint at Gateshead.
