Gateshead 2 Lincoln Utd 2

Good Fridays Game wasnt a good one for the Ref!!!

There was four goals and four Red cards dished out at the International Stadium during the course of the afternoon.

The game was end to end stuff with some great football being played by Gateshead, Steve Bakers second yellow card in the first half made the game a up hill struggle while already 1-0 down.

A penalty had been awarded after Steve Bakers foul, and Marc Bell saved the penalty to the cheers of the Heed Army.

Davie Southern got the scores level and 10 man Gateshead was all over the Lincoln defence until a mid air clash between Chris Hughes and Lincoln player.
The accidental clash saw Hughes receive a shock straight red card, this coming after the ref had already sent off a Lincoln player moments earlier.

Gateshead fell 2-1 down with 9 men against 10, but a careless back pass found the Lincoln keeper outside his box with Davie Southern baring down on him. Davie tackled the Keeper, ran round him and slotted it home in the onion sack.

Then the forth red card was displayed to the Manger of Lincoln Utd as he felt the keeper had been fouled in the build up to the goal.
