It was ten out of ten for Ian Bogie and his Gateshead team on Monday night at the International Stadium.
Witton Albion the Unibond league leaders needed 3 points to keep there Championship season alive, but it wasnt to happen on tyneside for the team in red and yellow.
The first half was full of action as Gateshead made life very difficult for the league leaders, Both Paul Talbot and Jamie Harwood kept the ball running down the wings on the Gateshead attacks.
Witton had there chances, but poor finishing and Marc Bell was there to stop the witton forward line.
Mattie Moffat had to be substitute in the firts half with an injury, he was replaced by Heed veteran Paul "Thommo" Thompson.
0-0 at halft time.
after half time Defender Steve baker also was subbed and replaced by Richard Flynn, after having an outstanding first half.
As Witton pushed forward to try and find a goal they left a massive gap in midfield, and Gateshead took full advantage of this after each witton attack broke down.
The Winning goal was scored by the midfield dynamo Chris Hughes after a goal mouth scramble.
a great win for gateshead who now stretch their unbeaten runs to 10 games under caretaker manager Ian Bogie.
